Title:    Sr Network Engineer - COPA / 7308

Location:          Harrisburg, PA

Duration:          2 years contact

 

Required experience;

Baseline Skills
The network engineer has the following baseline skills:

·         Knowledge and experience with networking environments, including LAN and WAN environments, use and management of firewalls, VPN, and dial-up and/or remote users;

·         Knowledge and experience with installing and configuring Cisco network equipment in multiprotocol internetworks using LAN and WAN interfaces;

·         Knowledge of and experience implementing Cisco specific technologies including access-control lists, pvlans, and policy routing

·         Knowledge of Cisco CSS/CSM load balancing hardware

·         Knowledge and experience in network security

·         Knowledge and experience in Checkpoint NG and Cluster XL

·         Knowledge and experience in CISCO FWSM/PIX/ASDM

·         Knowledge and experience with distributed sniffers and sniffer watch/NPO Visualizer.

·         Knowledge and experience with network management software for monitoring complex networks

·         Knowledge and experience in identifying, diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving potential and actual performance, hardware and software problems, and troubleshooting in large networked environments;

·         Knowledge of Server hardware troubleshooting and repair.

·         Strong communications and customer service skills

·         Knowledge and experience in ATM networked environments (Preferred but not required).

Desired Skills:

·         Certified Cisco Networking Professional             (Required)

·         Checkpoint Certified Security Administrator        (Required)

If the candidate does not have any one of the two required certifications, he/she must commit to obtaining it within three months of starting work on this project.

 

 

Additional Information:

Ø  Location: Harrisburg, PA. Candidate must live within a one-hour drive of Harrisburg.

Ø  Start date: ASAP

Ø  Hours: Full time, shifts rotate btw 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., M-F.

Ø  Mobile Phone & Laptop: Required for infrequent after-hours support and escalations

 

 

Daily Work Description

The Network Engineer is a member of a network operations team in Harrisburg, Pa. The team’s primary responsibility is the management of a Cisco network infrastructure supporting a large web application hosting environment and related disaster recovery sites. The hosting environment comprises 1800 Wintel servers and 500 Web-facing applications and continues to grow. It is widely recognized for its innovative use of the latest technologies from Microsoft, Cisco and CheckPoint.
