QA Analyst

Location: Parsippany, NJ

Duration: 6+ month contract

Our customer is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Quality Assurance Analyst. This candidate will be part of the customer's team responsible for participation in the positioning of their “Best of Breed” product in the Emergency Department Arena.

Essential Functions

Perform all aspects of testing including smoke test, functional, system, and regression tests
Work with cross-functional team testing fixes
Log, track, and verify defects concisely
Manage multiple QA environments across multiple customer configurations and product versions
Administer issue-tracking software
Work closely with developers and business analysts to understand functional requirements to create comprehensive test cases
Familiar with SQL – creating and executing queries, etc. Should also know VB Scripting.
Practical hands-on experience with automation tools – QTP required. TestComplete is a plus.
Participate in cross-functional team investigating and resolving Level II Support issues
Participate in cross-functional team to prepare software for deployment
Coordinate with part-time/off-site QA team members

Education and Work Qualifications

BS in Computer Science or equivalent and 3+ years of hands-on software testing experience
Strong problem solving skills
Highly motivated with ability to work independently as well as be a strong team player
Ability to step up in a fast paced environment and be accountable
Ability to multi-task and prioritize/manage time
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Extensive Knowledge of EDIM and/or other ED (emergency department) EMRs
Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented
High level of computer proficiency
Exceptional communication skills, written and oral

Negotiate the performance of activities with team members and their managers in a matrix environment. Coach to clarify assignments and deliverables; mentor others in project management practices; review quality of work and manage the integration of team member’s work. Manages the Project Budget with overall budget accountability for up to $4 million per year. Collaborates with the finance department and various functional managers to ensure project budgets are properly estimated and controlled; provides overall financial recommendations, and develop controls and measurements to monitor progress. * Provides Finance with monthly accruals and forecasts by the due date established by Finance using the tools developed by Finance. Maintains current statements of work for all contractors; track and approve contractor invoices in a timely manner. Provides regular updates to project sponsor and stakeholders on the status of the budget. * Documents reasons for budget excess or shortfall. * Manages project budgets for both expense and capital against the original project budget. * Creates Executive Summaries for all contractor resources required to complete a project.
