Job Title: Senior Linux Engineer OR Linux Architect
Duration: Six months
Location: Dulles VA
Job Description:
Month onsite resident that can assist in the design and implementation of a server-based NAS HA environment leveraging Linux-HA. Experience with:
a) Data migration
b) Host and volume provisioning
c) SAN Management
d) Switch Zoning
• Bachelor's degree (preferably in Computer Science) or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides skill and abilities to perform the job.
• 5-10 yrs of experience as a systems engineer for Linux focused work. Expert knowledge of Linux O/S and Linux-HA.
• Individual should have outstanding troubleshooting skills. Ability to identify, prioritize, and remedy problems quickly.
• Must have the ability to utilize complex computer operations (intermediate programming in 3rd and 4th generation languages, relational databases, and operating systems).
• Experience with SAN/NAS storage technologies and file systems management (NFS, iSCSI, multipathing, Linux LVM, etc) and software based HA clustering and load balance technologies (Corosync/Pacemaker, haproxy, etc.)
• Ideally experience with virtual technologies (Xen) and open source environments.
• Expertise in block and file storage methodologies and HA designs including both asynchronous and synchronous replication strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
