SMS (System Management Server) and SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager).  

 

SCCM engineer for Windows applications distribution and patch management for a major corporation.

Responsibilities may encompass but not limited to the following:

• SMS / SCCM administration
• Hardware and software technical support analysis
• Communications and network systems analysis
• Testing and analysis
• Software quality assurance and testing
• Software automation.
• Change Management
• Patch Management
• Coordination with Imaging and Packaging teams for resolution of software distribution and installation issues
• Running SMS / SCCM Reports
• Implementing test plans, migration plans, and delivery plans
• Deliver high-quality solutions to our customers to ensure their investment in technology is consistent with their business objectives.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of related SMS/SCCM support experience.
• A comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of computing processes and technology including, servers, gateways, communications equipment, workstations, software and hardware and associated diagnostics and tools. (Specifics are defined/vary by applicable end-user area.)  Knowledge of voice, digital, data compression and call center technology also recommended.
• Comprehensive PC literacy.
• Windows O/S (XP, Win7)
• Strong scripting skills in VBScript and/or PowerShell
• Group Policy
• SMS SQL database support
• Windows Firewall
• Considerable end-user interface by phone and/or in-person necessitates strong (clear) verbal communication skills and credible customer presence
