Candidates should have 3-6+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 3+ years of Java Enterprise development in the same job description.

 

In particular, we are interested in candidates with experience and specialization in GUI development, HTML, and Java Script.

Skills used on the project are Java, user interface development for workflow, GUI tool development, XML, Oracle SQL, and Red Hat Linux.

 

The position requires: self-driven and self-motivated personality, strong technical and analysis skills, attention to detail, adaptability, excellent communication, strong interpersonal skills, great organization skills and self-motivation and commitment.

Additional job skills include:

-       Experience with J2EE, data structures & core libraries

-       Familiarity with JDBC Oracle

-       Experience with Apache Maven

-       Familiarity with Python (or Perl or Ruby or equivalent)

-       Familiarity with Linux (or any Unix equivalent) development experience

-       Experience in Functional and Automated Testing

-       Proficient in one Configuration Management tool (e.g., Subversion, Perforce, Alienbrain, CVS)

-       Familiarity with Agile development, continuous integration, and modern testing methodologies

-       Excellent oral and written communication skills

-       UI programming experience a bonus

-       Familiarity with C++ desired

-       Familiarity with databases.  Spatial databases & GIS a benefit

-       Knowledge of GIS a bonus (can be learned on the job)

-       Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics

Job description:

  • This Customer needs a SAS 9.2 / 9.3 Platform Administrator (primary skill) with other development support / analyst activities with the SAS Platform as follows (secondary skill).

  • Customer has EBI, EG, EM, STAT, BASE, and 2 ACCESS engines, plus LSF for some scheduling augmented by Windows Scheduler – on the 2 environments. The greatest need will be with web applications design and building, and to a lesser extent reporting and OLAP cubes and Stored Processes. The web applications will interface with SAS, leveraging the IDP, and will not be standalone, custom-built scripting etc. in HTML, HTML5, Java, JavaScript, Flex, etc. Mostly, this will be designing IDP portal pages, and tweaking it and adding flexibility to do what's wanted with IDP. They have no OLAP cubes yet, but may when they get to 64-bit.) As it relates to statistical models and Enterprise Miner, the consultant will not need to build models nor develop code for the developers, but understanding them would be beneficial so as to assist developers if they're having issues (to avoid a developer assuming that the system isn't configured correctly when they have an issue). The consultant should know how to determine that a problem is not a system or configuration issue, by understanding and evaluating the code / models for errors. The consultant must have the ability to administer EM, the data and the resulting models, to include dealing with errors and potential problems that may arise (but not actually build predictive models, nor understand how EM works, such as managing inputs and model outputs, nor including taking model score code and implementing it into a production scoring environment). Perhaps assist migrating existing EM projects from 9.1.3 to 9.2, where these projects are not likely fully functional in 9.1.3.  This very likely involves more than just dealing with errors but likely understanding how one might code an EM project to begin with.  If the consultant is able to focus on administrating and supporting EM rather than programming, then you are 90% there. Work with a user in helping them understand that an issue is programming-related and not a bug or system-related issue and also able to effectively communicate how to deal with major changes to the toolset.}
