US Citizenship Required.

 

Developer will join a development team charged with a high-profile project.  The right candidate will be experienced with development using current Microsoft technologies at various tiers, including user interface (web-based), middle tier, and database.  Additionally, the ability to participate in architectural discussions is important, both for clean-sheet as well as incremental functionality. 

All candidates should expect to be asked detailed technical questions to assess their skills.  If pertinent examples of past work can be provided, candidates are encouraged to bring them to the interview.

Technology Requirements:

·         Visual Studio 2008-2010

·         SQL Server 2008: create/maintain db structures, write/optimize queries (performance tuning and indexing is a plus)

·         Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services or Team Foundation Server is a plus

·         Modeling: ability to create and understand ERD's and basic UML diagrams and documents

·         Architecture: ability to understand and apply abstractions and design patterns; familiarity with common best practices

Responsibilities

 

- Participate in XP (Extreme Programming) iteration and stand-up meetings to communicate progress, clarify specifications, and voice or address concerns

- Research and assess time requirements and implementation options for proposed projects, tasks and activities

- Implement project work on an individual or paired programming basis

- Communicate with internal client including Marketing, Analytics, Call Center and Fulfillment Departments to understand the background, flexibility, and desired outcome of their requirements and to provide feedback on feasibility

- Deploy approved code to the production environment

- Assist in the search for new and better technology platforms

- Test the code against the requirements

- Assist the IT team designing automated QA tests processes

 

Requirements

- 4+ years as a professional Web Developer / Software Engineer—with an emphasis on building consumer-facing applications for E-commerce & online advertising

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems/Computer Engineering

- 3+ years using "classic" ASP / ASP.NET or PHP

- Good understanding with relational databases and of familiarity with report building in a relational database system (MS SQL Server/Oracle, etc)

- Good understanding of Object Oriented Concepts (VB.Net, C++, C#, Java, Ruby, Smalltalk, Python, etc)

- Experienced with AJAX and Microsoft Silverlight is a plus

- Good analytical and problem solving skills

- Ability to understand project requirements and to be proactive on completing them

- Capability to quickly learn' adopting and applying new technologies

- Ability to work in close-knit, collaborative environment (core team member
