Role: Essbase Functional Analyst/ tester
Duration: 6 months Contract
Location: Washington, DC
Essbase Experience
· Experience designing and validating a multi-dimensional cube or using the OLAP tool Essbase
· 5+ years working within Business Intelligence with strong ETL and Reporting experience
· Analyzes data using standard statistical methods / financial modeling, time series analysis etc, interprets the results, and provides written summary of data analysis.
· Testing New Functionality Releases: Responsible for a subset of the testing the customizations and integration work associated with the expansion of the current reports to include new modules and/or new functionality to existing modules.
· Testing Existing Functionality: Responsible for testing across multiple environments, related to fixes/patches, enhancements and upgrades to existing functionality including testing code changes to existing objects, interfaces and conversions necessitated by data fixes, functionality patches, and upgrades; as well as production support tasks related to the identification, tracking and resolution of issues found in the production environment.
Candidate MUST HAVE:
· A thorough understanding of development and testing methodologies
· Experience creating testing deliverables that include Test Strategies, Cases and Scripts for large scale, complex cross-functional projects
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills (i.e. analysis, recreation and documenting the impact on the system overall) that will help to effectively decipher and comprehend both technical and business documentation
· Experience testing interfaces is a must (the ERP implementation will include many interfaces to other systems) both internally and externally to vendor applications.
· Responsible for supporting key financial processes such as consolidations, multi-currency processing (revaluation, translation, equalization, re-measurement), Eliminations, Year-End/Month-end close, Combo edit rules, spreadsheet journal imports, ledger loads, and inter-unit transactions
· Support functional end users and provide day to day production support.
· Design and construct reports and queries to facilitate analysis/review of financials.
· Responsible for documenting and translating business requirements into functional specifications
Test Plan: Develop a plan for Testing PeopleSoft GL, Essbase cubes for 2012 and Financial Reporting Center.
Test Cases: Develop test cases to support the UAT Targeted, UAT regression and UAT integrated
UAT Execution (Targeted & Regress): Execute test cases for PeopleSoft GL, Essbase cubes for 2012 and Financial Reporting Center.
iUAT Execution (Integrated): Coordinate the Testing between the Essbase product and the source data within the PeopleSoft application through the use of PeopleSoft Trees and PS Query. Test with the Other Upstream interfaces for PeopleSoft GL
