Location: Midtown, NY
Duration: 6 months
Interview: Phone followed by face to face
Client is re-writing the trading platform for algorithmic trading GLOBALLY - visible, critical to growth of the organization!!
Need someone extremely "passionate" about C# and front end development- a "hobbyist" - avid reader...someone who loves technology!!
Will be writing state of the art real-time trading platform (GUI for Traders) combining Algorithmic Trading and traditional Institutional Equity UI using WPF (version 3.5).
Any passionate C#/WPF techie will jump at the chance to work on WPF.
This is not just about adding some functionality but building from scratch.
Skills Required:
-Some real world experience utilizing WPF/C# (blendables, dependency properties, panels, etc.).
Obviously WPF is new technology but many are using this already so candidate needs to be aware of WPF having either used it in Production or has worked on it on their own.
Must be very familiar with many of the differences WPF can provide compared to older WPF applications.
-Must have deep OO experience.
Many candidates have some familiarity with true OO design/development so regular VB/VB.NET candidates typically are not at the level of the rest of the group.
-Familiarity with working in AGILE environment.
Group is focused and committed to using Best Practices (creation of great software) not just quick development for the sake of making it work.
This is about creating amazing code base that is completely re-usable.
-The candidate must truly understand what UNIT TESTING truly is.
-Mock Objects, Loose Coupling, External Dependency, Nunit/NMock/TypeMock and how to truly test the UI.
Not just about passing off code to a QA Team. Passion must be there to learn about Unit Testing if the candidate hasn't used it extensively.
They leverage TDD/DDD in this group.
-Deep experience with many Design Patterns is critical besides just typical Singleton.
-Must have passion for creating great software
-Aility to work in close knit collaborative team
