An ideal Oracle SOA Developer should have the following skills:
PositionSummary:Willprovide services to Integration CoE customers. This role will collaborate withfunctional users and analysts to translate business and integrationrequirements into high performing service-oriented integration solutions. Thisposition will be responsible for review, design, and implementation of SOAstandards applicable to systems and services to assure a unified adoption oftechnologies designed to maximize productivity and minimize redundancy andduplication.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS:
* Responsible for development and implementation of complex, multi-serviceintegrations.
* Act as a Subject Matter Expert in the support of application to applicationintegration through the identification and specification of optimal middlewarepatterns, practices, and technologies.
* Partners with other architects and developers to maximize the leverage ofEAI, SOA and middleware technologies and frameworks available in theenterprise.
* Reflect a strong mix of technical proficiency, integration maintenanceownership, and the ability to work effectively with other business andtechnology personnel.
* Actively participate within targeted industry-specific special interestgroups with targeted SOA technologies in order to remain relevant and currentwith forward-looking architectural trends and strategies which may benefitClients as roadmaps are refined and technology directions evaluated.
REQUIREDKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
* Demonstrated Professional Services and Consultative experience within a SOAIntegration team.
* Working knowledge of Oracle SOA Suite 11g, Oracle OSB 11g, JDeveloper, StrongBPEL, XQuery, XSLT, XSD, WSDL knowledge, SOAP UI, Oracle BPM Suite, Java EE andWeblogic Server Administration.
* Experience must include design & development of an enterprise level SOAor middleware team or key member of a development project with extensive SOA orMiddleware dependencies.
* Knowledge of Applications development lifecycle processes to include SystemsDevelopment Life Cycle (SDLC); Agile methodology are desirable.
* Possess a high-level overview of Oracle SOA Suite 11g product components, keyfeatures and functionalities.
* Working knowledge of BPMN and its use in the design and definition ofimage-enabled workflows within legacy business processes.
* Working experience in a BPEL product is highly desired.
* Experience using BAM for real time monitoring.
* Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills applied within aprofessional services environment.
* Goal-oriented with the ability to work independently with guidance anddirection from the Enterprise Architecture Director.
* Foster teamwork within the Information Technology departments throughinter-departmental interactions, inputs and deliverables.
* Demonstrated strong design documentation skills and ability to present it toa technical audience.
* Extensive experience with Java/J2EE based frameworks, like Spring, Spring WebServices, and middleware technologies.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience with creation of technical design and architecture diagrams anddocuments.
* Ability to analyze the pros and cons of complex integration solutions.
REQUIREDEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* BA or BS degree in Information Technology or related area, OR a combinationof college education and relevant work experience equivalent to 4 years ofcollege.
* 3+ years (minimum) hands-on experience as an application integrationdeveloper preferably using Oracle middleware, Java, J2EE technologies, at amedium to large scale company.
* Experienced operating within a matrix services-organization while providingconsultative services to teams of all types.
* Experience working with Business and Applications teams for solutions designand fulfillment.
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS:
* Extensive experience utilizing Oracle Middleware technologies (e.g. OracleESB and OSB (11g), Oracle SOA Suite, BEA AquaLogic, Weblogic server, EnterpriseRepository).
* Fluency in Web Services standards and technologies (e.g., XML, SOAP, WSDL,XSD, UDDI, etc.). Expertise on WS-* standards such as WS-Addressing,WS-Security, WS-I Basic Profile, WS-I Basic Security Profile etc.
* Extensive knowledge and experience in application of SOA Patterns.
* Property Insurance Industry experience desirable.
* Firm understanding of multi-tier web based application architecture andapplication frameworks.
OTHERREQUIREMENTS:
* Requires the ability to adapt rapidly within a changing environment whileoperating well within areas of ambiguity.
* Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time and use a computer (6 ormore hours per day).
* Requires the ability to work shifts outside of normal working hours,including weekends as requested.
* Requires the ability to support both planned and unplanned events.
