Job Title :SQL Server DBALocation: NewYok City,NY
Duration: :6+ months Contract
Minimum Requirements:
Sql Server 2008 DBA with MS Clustering, Mirroring and Log shipping
5 years deep SQL Server experience with at least a year in SQL Server 2008
SQL Server installation and upgrade skills, especially 2005 to 2008
Broad understanding of security requirements, firewall issues, MS Policy Management
Experienced in database backup and recovery including the nuances of the various recovery models and utilizing TSM as a backup storage mechanism
Strong Windows Server (2003 and later) and Microsoft desktop tools skills
Ability to clearly communicate technical details to application team management
Hands-on background with MS Clustering, Mirroring, Log Shipping
Good team-player
Preferred Skills:
Very knowledgeable in monitoring, performance tuning and addressing scalability
Exposure to rigorous Change Management policies and the associated formal ticketing processes
Solid experience with SQL Server partner components (e.g. SSIS, SSRS, SSMS)
Willingness/ability to document problems with their associated solutions and communicate those to the DBA team and application team customers
