Role: Sr Programmer Analyst 

Location: Atlanta, GA

Duration: 12+ Months contract

 

Explanation for Position:

The BIA Systems Development group creates and maintains various web-based applications in support of Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management and Operations.

The BIA database developer will assist in the full life cycle of application development within a RAD environment. The Sr. Programmer Analyst will be involved in hands-on

development of databases using SQL Server 2000 in support of the various BIA web applications. This will involve the design, coding, and support for both new and

existing applications using the full array of SQL Server tools.

 

Details of Position:

*Support the development of business requirements and program specifications *Assist in the creation of project timelines *Work closely with management team to

design application flow *Create and maintain various databases *Design and implement database scheme and process flow *Develop, analyze and execute system

test plans *Work closely with QA group to maintain application accuracy *Analyze client data to determine necessary data constraints *Analyze databases for

performance related issues *Take full ownership of applications as it relates to automating production posting cycles and communicating with the various

stakeholders.

 

Management Skills:

•4-6 years of experience in Database Analysis, Design, Coding and Testing. •4 years of solid knowledge and extensive experience in T-SQL •Experience in SQL Server

2005/2008 and/or OLAP •Experience in VB.NET is a big Plus •Development skills in stored procedures, triggers, UDF, cubed data, custom DTS packages using Visual

Basic, and custom data transfers •Expertise in process performance tuning and optimization – db design, indexes, distributed views •Advanced understanding of

database design - relational integrity, normalization, star schema •Foundation in database administration - space utilization, load balance, process scheduling,

security, replication, backups •Solid background of full life-cycle design, implementation, backup, support and integration with front end applications
