Duration: 6 months

 

QA Analyst (Strong backend testing skills)

 

 

Position Description: 

We are currently looking for a highly motivated QA Analyst with detailed understanding of end to end system testing in a fast paced dynamic environment and have a good experience in testing databases and in creation of backend scripts. This person should be well-versed in performing manual and automated testing.

Essential Function:

* Plan, write, execute and evaluate software quality assurance (SQA) tests of software applications.
* Document, track and report software defects following department standards and procedures.
* Responsible for software releases to the QA and production environments using Mercury Quality Center. 
* Analyze business and technical requirements, and perform SQA testing.
* PROFICIENT in Transact SQL (SQL Server) for backend testing.


Organizational Structure: 

* The candidate will be reporting to QA Manager, but will be working in close interaction with developers Project Managers and Client Services teams. 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (Minimum Level Necessary)

* At least 5+ years of IT QA testing experience required
* 3+ year experience in MS SQL, SQL Server database and back-end testing
* 2+ year experience in writing test plan and test cases, and experience in manual testing
* Experience in multiple testing methodologies and in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
* Experience in defect tracking using defect tracking tools
* Must be able to work under self-direction with minimal supervision and guidance; be able to prioritize assigned work and coordinate with other team members and business users
* Excellent people skills when interacting with developers and users
* Excellent analytical, and communication skills – both verbal and written
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required (Computer Science Degree is a big plus, but not required)
