Job Description:
Seeking a Senior SQL developer with 10+ years of design and development experience. The right candidate will take full responsibility for all duties associated with critical systems enhancements/issues in financial systems. This requires working independently with end users to define requirements, design, develop and support the testing of these changes. In this capacity, the candidate will be required to identify business requirements, develop information models, perform data analysis, design advanced SQL queries and stored procedures, design and code reports and front-ends, and maintain databases. A strong working knowledge of MS SQL and a background in financial services is required.
The candidate needs to be professionally mature and self-directed, must possess excellent time management and interpersonal skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and the ability to communicate and work equally well with system and business users / executives is essential.

Responsibilities
Design advanced SQL queries and stored procedures Develop short and long term SQL Server database design Create, maintain, modify, and optimize SQL Server databases Prepare documentation Optimize query and table design with knowledge of database performance, capacity and replication Design and code reports Collaborate with other developers

Skills/experience:
10+ years experience with MS SQL Server, including extensive experience
10+ with MS SQL Server 2005/2008


Financial services background
Experience designing tables and implementing new databases Extensive experience writing advanced SQL queries, analyzing and optimizing queries, and writing stored procedures Working knowledge of software development life cycle Proficiency in troubleshooting Excellent communication skills.
