Need Senior MS SQL DBA, infrastructure not applications, to assist in DB analysis as a business unit expands its application environment to accommodate growth.

 
Minimum 3-5 years of IT experience with at least one year as Senior DBA dealing with DB concepts having a business background sufficient to demonstrate technical aptitudes and detail orientation while considering impact of activities on overall database and involved systems.

* Oversee technical aspects, data and business rules, maintained in the RDBMS.
*  Work with System Analysts, Programmers, UNIX Administrator, SAP Basis Administrator, and end users to facilitate systems which utilize the RDBMS.

* Apply database concepts to assist others in supporting their database needs.

* Effectively communicate with various departments and levels of staff and management.
- Work with computer Operations staff to establish effective operations functions/procedures for the RDBMS
- Work with Systems Development staff to design database applications and business solutions
- Work with end users to provide necessary access to data and information
- Work with management on database issues and project plans

* The position must ensure database functionality.
- Property security procedures, backup and transaction logging procedures are utilized
- Timely software maintenance procedures and upgrades,
- Performance, disk management, and capacity planning procedures are utilized
- Establish data loading, restoring and integrity guidelines

* The position must stay abreast of technology opportunities
- Database end user tools
- Database transaction processing
- Database development training and tools
