IMMEDIATE INTERVIEWS:- SQL Server Developer ( CA, 6+ Months ).

Location: San Francisco, CA
Duration: 6+ Months

Locals Highly preferred


As a SQL Developer , you will be responsible for creating, optimizing and reviewing stored procedures and database scripts, primarily on SQL Server 2008.
You will help to tune queries and troubleshoot database performance, as well as support the engineering team by ensuring the development and QA databases adequately represent the production environment.
You may occasionally query data for other employees, but this job is geared more toward application development than report writing.

Additional responsibilities may include the following;

Write, review and tune stored procedures
Tune queries and indexes
Execute queries against production data
Help develop and enforce standards
Review stored procedures written by engineering
Document our current/future models
Help document the databases and define the procedures for modifying them
Help to deploy database changes
Some DBA responsibility for development and QA databases
Some backup DBA responsibility for our operations department
 
The ideal candidate for this role will possess expert level TSQL programming skills, and a deep understanding of query optimization and indexing.
Comprehensive understanding of data modeling and database normalization, and demonstrated experience working with large amounts of dynamic data is also required.

Required qualifications:

Advanced T-SQL programming skills
Performance Tuning in MS SQL 2005 or 2008
In-depth (at least 5 years) understanding of indexes
General knowledge of good program design
A history of working with highly detailed data and good testing strategies
 
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in information science, data management, computer science or related field
Data Modeling - Familiar with all forms
Experience using data modeling tools.
Demonstrated history of staying current with new technology and trends
Experience with MySQL.
Experience with non-relational storage architectures (NoSQL)
