Description     

The preferred candidate must possess at least 7 years of experience in a specialized role that includes implementation, support, and maintenance of large scale n-tier web applications;

Proven background in the development and deployment of complex operational systems;

Expert level knowledge with any version-control tool like Clear Case, CVS or Subversion;

Configuration and release Management experience in large software projects;

Experience with build automation and continuous integration tools. (ANT, JIRA, etc);

Strong knowledge of UNIX scripting languages such as Perl, Shell, Python Etc.

Strong knowledge of Unix and Windows operating systems

Must have knowledge of the workings of defect tracking tools and be able to define and setup work/process flows in Quality Center;

Strong knowledge of server and application architectures;

Must be able to work in cross functional teams to provide the best solution;

Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines;

Ability to effectively interface with technologists, business owners, and end-users;

Demonstrate coordination; organization, creativity, flexibility, and strong analytical skills;

Strong communication skills; both written and verbal;

Flexibility to work overtime as required (may need to be on call to support a 24x7x365 technical operation).

Must have strong verbal skills to communicate with non-technical resources.

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE : - Note: candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered

Experience with TRIRIGA

Knowledge of NYC Government culture

Experience in J2EE is a big plus;

Experience with object oriented development using UML;

Database experience with Oracle 9i/10g;

Experience with Sun Web Server and other J2EE application server such as Tomcat, JBOSS, WebLogic

Experience with application monitoring tool like Quest Foglight

Experience in deploying web applications and its components in multiple regions
