Linux Admin with Splunk

·         Position: Linux Admin with expertise on Storage

·         Location: Cupertino, CA

·         Skills: Should have a strong expertise on Storage Area Network (SAN), NAS.

Roles & Responsibilities:

·         Linux Admin(L3)-Firmware Patch Administration, Boot Disk Mirroring, Jumpstart server setup, Shell/ Perl scripting with respect to OS 
admin (not app support),OS Performance tuning & management, Hardware Upgrade, OS Upgrade, erver Partitioning, Managing core files Kernel 
Tuning, Kernel Patching, Kernel Recovery & Troubleshooting, H/WCrash Analysis, OS Crash Dump Analysis, Capacity planning OS & Software 
Depot Management, Cloning & Golden Image creation, Volume manger administration, Cluster implementation, HA Cluster Configuration/re-
configuration,NISAdministration/configuration,DNS Administration/configuration, DHCP ,Hardening of servers Log file analysis

·         SAN experience of understanding SAN switches. Great hands on experience of Logical Units (LUN). Should be familiar with Vendor 
specific redundant & business continuity technologies such as Business Copy (BC), Continuous access (CA),Information Lifecycle Management 
(ILM), SRDF etc. Should Have experience installing & configuring Backups, Backup agents using tape libraries Knowledge. Great understanding 
on managing zones, Fiber Channel (FC) technologies. Working knowledge of Backup technologies such as IBM TSM, HP Data Protector, 
Veritas, Net backup etc 

UNIX Server High Availability(L3)-Concepts, Design, review, implement and management of High Availability Systems& Software, Mission 
Critical System design Techniques, High Availability , Fault, Error, Failure, Single Points of Failure, Business continuity, DR. Expertise platform 
specific vendor products such as Veritas Cluster Server(VCS), Sun Cluster, MCSG, HACMP, RHCS etc. 

 

·         UNIX Virtualization(L2)-Good hands on experience with UNIX Virtualization technologies such as nPar, vpar, IVM, Zones, Containers, 
ZFS,VMWARE, RHEV, vio, LPAR,HMC etc. Design, implement, review, maintenance and performance review of UNIX Virtualization environment. 

·         UNIX Server Performance management(L2)-Analysis and tuning system performance of parameters like DISK, Network, CPU, Mem Good 
working knowledge of inbuilt utilities such as iostat, vmstat, sar and vendor third party tools.
