Role: BusinessObjects Report & Dashboard Developer

Duration: 12+ Months

Location: Columbus, OH

The Business Objects report developer will be working on various reporting initiatives. Developer will be responsible for developing the Web Intelligence report via Infoview. Developer will also be responsible for developing reports & Dashboards, coordinating projects from a business and technology perspective, ensuring that report development activities are consistent with the direction of the business. The developer is expected to spend majority of his time on report development activities. Developer will be responsible for participating in team meetings and communicating appropriate project status. When working as developer, person will be part of a team of peers working on highly technical initiatives.

Responsibilities

• As the Business Objects developer, Develops reports and dashboards based on the operational & financial data stored in the data warehouse.
• Creates complex reports requiring multiple parameters, summarizing data with crosstabs, using sections and section underlay for groups, and related report functions; builds specialized reports utilizing hyperlinks, dynamic graphic locations and alerts.
• Creates Xcelsius Dashboards & Crystal reports.
• Configures the List of Values (LOV) job server to populate design patterns (value objects) with data/values retrieved from databases.
• Participates in the design and development of various aspects of IDES' Business Objects Universes.
• Understands Loops, Contexts, traps in Universe & how to resolve them.
• Understands Derived table concepts & performance tuning.
• Understands Business Objects Enterprise security model and creates security content such as users, groups and categories.
• Can develop a report using Live Office.

Qualifications/Skills

• Seven years of professional experience in Business Objects Reports & Dashboard Development.
• Experience as outlined above for BusinessObjects WEBI reports, Crystal reports and  especially Xcelsius Dashboards.
• Experience with reporting via Live Office.
• Experience with Universe design
• Experience with SQL Scripts.
• Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts and principles.
• Experience with methods, procedures and techniques of Crystal & WEBI Reports development.
• Experience to analyze data logically and exercise sound judgment in defining, evaluating, and solving difficult technical or operational problems.
• Developed oral and written communication skills to present technical information to others with clarity and precision.
• Ability to gain and maintain effective working relationships with agency officials, associates, vendors, clients and others to achieve desired results.
