Sr. System Architect
Location : Houston, TX
Master in Systems Engineering or equivalent experience. Ph.D. Preferred
(Preferably coming from computing science or embedded systems: electronics, computing, software, etc)
Key Activities: Systems engineering, Requirement Engineering, Test and Validation.
This person will be the technical right hand of the program manager and the technical liaison to the Technology Innovation Leader in Transocean. This person will interact with the customer and marketing to translate "voice of the customer" needs into engineering requirements. In addition, the systems architect will be in charge of generating the validation and test activities for each program managed by the Technology Innovation team.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Provide expert level security analysis and consultation services for system and network architecture designs.
• Manage the security efforts of the systems and network operations groups and lead the design, implementation, management, and maintenance of security services to meet defined service levels.
• Develop and maintain guidelines/standards for the monitoring of security systems.
• Develop plans for security audits and penetration testing in conjunction with the Director, Operations & Security.
• Analyze potential threats and vulnerabilities in order to assess, prioritize and differentiate between potential intrusion attempts and false alarms.
• Develop and maintain the security incident response and remediation protocol; ensure that the appropriate network, server, and client resources are trained to follow this protocol
• Develop and implement appropriate processes for change control, physical security of the datacenter, and security audits.
• Participate in the development of the client's security plan.
• Perform root cause analysis of systems failures and potential breaches.
• Ensure that systems and services meet the requirements of the Client's security plan.
• Manage projects and delegate tasks as necessary.
