Title: ALTIRIS/SOE ENGINEER

 

Location:  New York, NY

 

Duration: 6 months

 

Job Description:

MUST HAVE: 

 

Please have your consultant list his years of experience and his level of expertise (Expert, Advanced, Intermediate Beginner, or None) beside each of the skills below:

 

·        Altiris Toolset Knowledge and Experience - 5 Years Total Experience

·        Experience installing, configuring and administeringAltiris NS 6 and 7

·        Thorough Knowledge of collection creation, configuration, and troubleshooting

·        Thorough experience with targeting systems with static and dynamic rules

·        Windows Image Distribution methodology experience using Altiris toolset

·        Windows Scripting experience

·        Windows Desktop OS Image Engineering - 3 Years Total Experience

·        Thorough knowledge of Windows Operating Systems including Windows XP, Windows 7, Server 2003, Server 2008

·        Windows Image Engineering with Windows XP Professional, Windows 7 Professional/Enterprise

·        Experience using standard imaging tools to create a stand alone and unattended build solution

·        Experience with WIM

·        Experience with vmWare

·        Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy configuration and implementation

·        Application Packaging - 3 Years Total Experience

·        Experience with Wise Package Studio to create packaged application installers

·        Microsoft Certification Desired (sufficient and proven experience acceptable in lieu of certification)

 

DUTIES:

 

·        Installs implements and maintains computer environments to include desktop, mainframe, midrange, servers and other peripherals.

·        Ability to follow standard processes and procedures to create a quality, defect free deliverable

·        Thorough knowledge of MSI Methodology and Microsoft Best Practices for Application Packaging

·        Ability to troubleshoot/diagnose package installation issues, and implement the most effective resolution

General Requirements

·        Work effectively independently and as part of a larger team delivering a service with minimum service levels/delivery expectations

·        Interact effectively with client retained representatives (requestors, managers, etc.) when necessary

·        Participate in Project Initiatives as Assigned

·        Other responsibilities and roles as assigned

·        Act in the capacity of a Subject Matter Expert in regards to the Altiris NS 6 and 7 toolsets, and provide guidance when needed to the rest of the team
