Senior Business Objects Developer

 

DURATION: Contract to Hire for 6 months

 

LOCATION: San Francisco, CA

OVERVIEW:

 

This Department is responsible for the development and maintenance of the platforms that serve the global Securities Lending Business, which includes the full business and operational process from trading to billing. There are more than 180 users in 3 global locations using this platform, which generates ~500M annually in revenue. The platform processes 325K transactions per day. The Securities Lending platform is "downstream" from Portfolio Management processes and, while a standalone business unit, it can be greatly impacted by changes in those areas.

 

ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Develop high quality software and associated unit tests Write clear and concise documentation describing the technical solution Diagnose, research and resolve software defects Liaise with Business Analysts and Technical Lead to understand Business Requirements Support Test team in System, Integration and User Acceptance testing Be a self starter and work with minimal supervision in a team environment Work with the Project Manager, Development Manager, and Support Manager to participate in the project planning and ongoing status reporting Utilize configuration management tools to track and record all changes to software code or configuration.

Work with the support/release management team to deploy software into test and production environments, including ensuring that developed code and configurations are in accordance with the defined standards.

Participate in and conduct code reviews

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

 

SAP Business Objects

Multi Universe Creation

Web Intelligence (Webi)

Unix

 

DESIRED SKILLS:

 

Sybase

Exposure to Java

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

5 years of application software development/integration

5 years of Business Intelligence experience, including experience with Sybase IQ (preferrred), Business Objects, and Informatica (preferred)

3 years of SQL include creation of complex stored procedures and triggers

1 year of Unix

Experience working on systems integration projects Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills Strong critical reasoning skills
