 We have an immediate contract need in Boston, MA for 6+ months for a Netezza Architect/Admin.  Details are below.  Please contact me if you have any potenntial candidates for this role.  Rate is open.  Client is in the financial services industry.

 

Position Details:

The day-to-day responsibilities are to install, maintain and tune Netezza Database. The database architect should be capable of working independently as well as operating in a team environment, with a willingness to follow pre-defined IT policies to satisfy our clients. Ability to understand clients needs and suggest solutions and help the clients meet their deadlines. 
Goals and objectives:
Maintain stability and improve uptime. Meet project deadlines defined by the clients. Establish and develop new database maintenance scripts with engineering and developemnt teams to automate Netezza database management and monitoring. 
Provide data modeling services in support of an enterprise data warehouse
* Translate detailed business requirements into logical data structures required to facilitate the delivery of critical business information
* Develop logical data structures in support of business solutions
* Incorporate new data structures into the meta data strategy 
* Work closely with business systems interface team

Skills:

• Good understanding of the Netezza architecture, Conversant with all aspects of Netezza loading NZLOAD and NZSQL
• Conversant with Netezza optimization techniques and Knowledge of Netezza specific best practices
• Have solid understanding of Distribution, Zone maps, MVIEWS and be able to use them appropriately
• Good understanding of designing Netezza for Business Objects reporting.
