Title:Oracle/ Linux Engineer  - CA

Location : Universal City - California

Duration : 12+ Months

 

Responsible for implementation and support of Red Hat/Oracle Enterprise Linux operating systems and/or product solutions for optimum performance, stability, reliability, security, in a 24X7 high availability production environment.

• Participate in the design process to understand customer, business and technical objectives and product requirements

• Server OS and System Software Evaluation and Qualification o Red Hat/Oracle Enterprise Linux including support updates and new releases. IBM AIX, MS Windows, Solaris and HP-UX is a plus. o Clustering/RAC High Availability o Experience building and configuring physical and virtual servers, including RPM, Documentation & Scripting. o LVM volume Management support and maintenance o Hardware management and monitoring software – drivers.

• Provisioning Strategy, Customization, and Implementation. o Automation Solutions o BMC Blade Logic Server Automation provisioning to provide a common platform is a plus. o HP Server Automation provisioning to provide a common platform is a plus. o Satellite servers, clone channels, kickstarts, and bootstrap and post-install scripts

• Proof Of Concepts

• 5+ year's professional experience with Red Hat/Oracle Enterprise Linux in an enterprise engineering/design/analysis/implementation/administration and troubleshooting role.

• Experience with GFS clustered environments and VMware a big plus.

• Experience with unattended installations (PXE/Kickstart) and Satellite Servers required.

• Experience with Red Hat Cluster / Oracle RAC required

• Experience with RAID configuration, performance and kernel tuning. Exp. with various storage types, interface types, and LOM/OOB management configurations.

• Experience supporting and deploying Oracle database technologies (11/10g RAC cluster deployment and support) are a big plus.

• Experience with BMC Blade Logic Server Automation is a big plus.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Experience working with EMC/Netapp SAN and NAS devices related to Red Hat/Oracle Enterprise Linux operating system implementations.
