Need Sr. .Net Dev. with Financial Services Exp. for CT !

Position: Senior Software Developer  

Location: West Port, CT

Duration: 12+ Months

 

Rate: $65/Hr on C2C/1099 all INC

 

Position Summary:

Bank experience (at least 1 year ) & familiarity with financial products terminology is required.

The candidate will need to have worked in a financial firm or bank.  Needs to be familiar  with the industry.

 

Senior Software Developers need to be familiar with software development and have a passion for learning. They will generally be engaged in projects ranging in size from weeks to months, and geared towards helping the business integrate and benefit from vendor applications. Senior Software Developers will work both as an individual contributor and as a member of a small team of developers taking direction from project managers and technical leads. They need to be able to understand the Back Office Technology architecture at an application level. We are looking for individuals that are flexible, eager, and able to engage with the business on projects. The Back Office Technology environment will most likely be about integrating third party systems, which will be required of someone in this role. 

  1. Need to code securely
  2. Need to interview ‘in-person’ vs. phone screen and show up on site.  (please note – they have turned about vendors that provide for folks interviewing overseas, and then placed on-site).
  3. Need strong communication skills- this is the former Bridgewater team which is guided by BridgeWater today – which has a culture different than BONY.  They will need to be strong communicators.

Position Requirements:

Design

  • Work with a technical lead to design solutions
  • Work with a business analyst to develop requirements
  • Use best practices on maintainability, supportability, and operability of the solutions being designed
  • Work with a technical lead to enforce good software development practices within the development team
  • Participate in design reviews of peer and junior developer’s designs

Develop

  • Be a self starter who can set direction but also take direction from a project manager/tech lead on development work streams
  • Use best practices on maintainability, supportability, and operability of the solutions being developed and provide mentorship to junior developers
  • Practice good software development practices
  • Participate in code reviews of peer and junior developer’s applications

Do

  • Work with a tech lead to design new applications, components, and interfaces
  • Maintain code base: fix bugs, re-factor, improve patterns, reduce duplication, and extend functionality
  • Write automated tests
  • Develop expertise in: .NET, SQL Server, Python, third party applications

 

Core Criteria:

Technical/Architectural Skill

  • 8+ years professional experience developing software
  • Technical experience with .NET: C#, ASP.NET, Java, and/or Python
  • Knowledge of modern development methodologies and practices
  • Understanding of Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA/OOD)
  • Familiar with standard software development toolsets, source code control (branching & tagging, etc.)
  • Has the ability to work with the business to identify business problems and work with a tech lead to design excellent solutions

Financial Services experience preferred
