Location : Des Moines, IA

Duration : 18 months +

Rate :  DOE on C2C / 1099

 

Due Date : 07/31/2012

 

Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain and implement complex web applications using Microsoft development and server platforms. Developer will be responsible for complete design of web-based software solutions, including requirements gathering, architecture design, security design, data model, code writing, testing structure and implementation.

Analyze existing web applications in order to enhance or design new functionality or fix software code. Write application specifications and programming code.

Resolve web application technical issues through debugging, research and investigation.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

Ability to read, write and understand the following languages: ASP, .NET, C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, T-SQL and XML.

Advanced knowledge of web application security, ie knowledge of how to develop secure applications as well as secure web development.

Knowledge of Visual Basic and VB.NET is helpful.

Act as an escalation end point for production troubleshooting guidance of web applications.

Understand Internet Information Server (IIS).

Create databases, tables, views, indexes, functions, logins and stored procedures in MS SQL. Understand SQL security.

Knowledge and experience using XML, XHTML and XLST is helpful.

Be able to provide verbal and written technical solutions for both end users and development staff.

Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize multiple tasks and initiatives and meet all deadlines.

Knowledge and experience developing applications for credit card transactions is desirable.

Knowledge and experience writing object oriented code is preferred.

 

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Shall complete assignments timely and submit weekly status reports indicating progress on assigned tasks, performance against assigned project due dates, and identification and suggested resolution for issues having the potential to adversely impact the project.

Shall work and communicate effectively with internal and external customers in a polite, courteous, and cooperative manner.

Shall maintain a positive working relationship with coworkers, supervisors and customers.

Shall promote teamwork and collaboration.

Must be self-directed and self-motivated to manage and prioritize competing tasks to ensure project completion

Must accurately prepare written business correspondence that is coherent, grammatically correct, effective, and professional .

A work history demonstrating dependability.

Shall adhere to Iowa Secretary of State’s Office work rules and policies.

Able to start within 30 days of offer.
