Cognos Administrator: - Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410

(3 month contract-to-hire)

General Summary

The ideal candidate will support the security, administration, and management of the CLIENT Cognos environment in addition to the support of framework manager modeling efforts. This individual will maintain an awareness of emerging platform trends and best practices and act as a champion for the overall Cognos platform within CLIENT IT. It is of significant benefit for the ideal candidate to maintain experience within an environment integrating Cognos against SAP BW/BI and/or SAP ECC in addition to other source systems. This role will report to the Network Operations Director, but will work within the CLIENT BI team on a dedicated basis.

Primary Responsibilities

•             Partner with IT Security in the administration and oversight / management of the Cognos security framework for CLIENT

•             Monitor and manage system operation metrics and performance across core Business Intelligence, TM1, Controller, and Cognos Mobile platforms

•             Partner with IT Host Systems team in the management and administration of the Cognos backup strategy

•             Develop and manage a monitoring strategy for system run / scheduling activities. Partner with IT Operations in the monitoring of scheduled run activities.

•             Develop and maintain administration policies, procedures, and best practices

•             Administer configured Cognos data sources and incorporate additional sources as required. Support Framework Manager modeling and change management efforts as required.

•             Manage the development and provision of introductory platform training needs

 

Education & Experience

•             Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Information Systems

•             Significant experience within Cognos 8.x and/or 10.x platform administration

•             Experience within an environment leveraging BI/BW 7.0 and SAP ECC 6.0 desired

•             5+ years of related experience, or advanced degree plus 3+ years of related experience in Cognos development and administration

•             Prior experience in the deployment and/or administration of Cognos 8.x or 10.1 environment a plus

•             Experience with TM1 platform a plus, but not required
