| MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Note: candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered. - CISSP certification is required;
- At least eight years of satisfactory full-time (not classroom based) experience in local area network planning, design, configuration, installation, troubleshooting, integration, performance monitoring, maintenance, enhancement, and security management;
- Proficiency in applying host based security; Knowledge in the areas of networking, firewalls (multi-vendor), OS hardening, and web-based applications;
- Extensive experience in setting up and troubleshooting of multi site, multi firewall, multi VPN deployments in support of B-to-B, e-Commerce, and other related business projects between agencies and 3rd-party organizations
- Proficiency in security infrastructure, as well as Web facing applications hosting.
- Previous hands-on involvement into developing, implementing, communicating security policies and/or plans for data, software applications, hardware and telecommunications for the City or State government, as well as interaction with different areas of the organization during project requirements gathering, design, implementation and documentation.

| DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE : - Note: candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered - Vendor-specific certifications such as Cisco, Checkpoint, Nokia, McAfee MVM are highly desired;
- A Master's degree in computer science or a related field from an accredited college.
- Hands-on knowledge of Data Center scoping/capacity planning/installation
- Previous experience in managing carrier-class networks for Telecommunication Companies or Security Service Providers
- Experience with defining application and business risk associated with line of business
