Job Description
Essential
· College degree (Computer Science preferred).
· Minimum 6 years of hands on experience Java and J2EE
· Deep knowledge of Java programming language
· Object Oriented software design
· Solid design, coding, testing and debugging skills in distributed J2EE technologies
· Solid experience in Hibernate, Spring, GWT and Maven
· Competent SQL developer
· Good understanding of Java profile tools, Unit test frameworks like Junit and ability to write solid System Integration Test cases
Advantageous
· Experience of Agile development methodology, such as Scrum or XP
· Experience of Test Driven Development
· Exposure to Terracotta, Drools, Selenium, JBehave and GWT framework
· Experience in Linux and shell scripting
· Knowledge of version and revision control practices and procedures
· Experience in Subversion
· Experience with the Financial Services industry experience is helpful, particularly in Securities Clearance or Collateral Management
Soft Skills
· Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
· Comfortable with agile development practices such as pair programming
· Skilled at giving and receiving feedback
· A proactive approach to problem solving and decision making
· Highly self-motivated
