Role: SAP WM/TM Functional Analyst

Location: San Antonio, TX

Duration: Long Term

 

 DESCRIPTION:

 

The SAP WM/TM position includes, but not limited to, supporting traditional WM processes including goods movements, batch management, and physical inventories.  Support requires full command of Radio Frequency technology and equipment, Barcodes, and Serial Numbers.  It is also responsible for supporting the Demand to Ship business process while working with SAP’s new Transportation Management application SAP TM 8.0.  Will also support transportation planning, organization structure, scheduling, route determination, route optimization, freight rate management, tendering, and SD Order integration etc. 

 

 RESPONSIBILITIES

 

• Include SAP design, configuration, writing functional specifications, working with developers, testing, working with the training team, assisting in the development of training material, training, legacy data conversion, go live and ongoing user support.  Further, the primary support duties are supporting SAP upgrades, interfaces to other core business systems, interfaces to external systems, and help to define and support IT processes.

• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for SAP the WM/ TM modules including resolving day to day systems issues by diagnosing the problem and resolving by either changing configuration or logging a system note with SAP.

• Coordinate issue resolution with handheld technology vendor.

• Work closely with business members of the OTC, DTS and PTP business functions to facilitate effective solution implementations and provide knowledge transfer of system functionality to Super Users, Subject Matter Experts and end users. 

• Analyze business process gaps and identify solution alternatives and guidance to business and IT stakeholders for selecting the best solutions for close the gaps.

• Work closely with ABAP developers to define programming requirements and test programming solutions.

• Support continuous implementation of EDI trading partners, supporting testing and IDOC enhancement requirements.

• Provide production support for SAP WM/TM integration points with IM, PP, QM, and SD modules.  Support SAP interfaces to other core client business applications.

• Provide functional support for master data governance, and master data troubleshooting.

• Work closely with end users to prioritize and manager completion of support tickets. Track and report WM/TM support metrics.

• Manage projects assigned through the full project lifecycle including managing and coordinating the work of consultants when necessary.

• Proactively participate in the integration between related SAP functions with other IT Business Analysts.

• Strong ability to lead discussions with the business to analyze, configure and model processes in SAP.

• Modify, test and validate system configuration.  Prepare detailed functional specifications for development activities including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms.

• Build and execute unit testing, integration and regression testing (build test cases, perform tests, and make changes to configuration or processes based on results).

• Facilitate knowledge transfer, communication and interaction between various functional organizations and the Information Technology department.

• Document and control all changes made to productions systems via change control process.

 

 REQUIREMENTS

 

• Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree

• 5+ years of experience in the WM, TM, SD, and LES modules with development and support of business application systems including analysis, functional and technical design testing.

• 2 or more full project life cycle SAP implementations including blueprinting, configuration, testing, training and post implementation support.

• Experience with RFID solutions.

• Experience with SAP TM 6.0 or 7.0 is very beneficial

• SAP SD and/or LES expertise is very beneficial

• Understanding of Transportation Management Business environments of Shippers, Retailers, and/or Logistics Service Providers.

• Experience with business case development, project planning and estimation is a must.

• Strong Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills are required.

• Experience in Solution Manager is a plus.

• Experience using ARIS is a plus.

• Cross-functional business experience is a must.
