Position summary
Client is looking for a Network Security Engineer with demonstrated ability to design and implement proven to cutting edge network security solutions with an eye towards scalability, supportability and uptime. The ideal candidate will be able to document and articulate proposed designs to technical peers, service stakeholders and management. As a senior member of the team, the candidate should be able to lead, mentor, and train other IT technical staff in proper design, implementation and support following industry best practices. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated self-starter with interest in network security technologies and willingness to take on complex issues and resolve them in a timely manner. The candidate will be customer focused with an acute sense of urgency in resolving issues that incur a service interruption.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, test and maintain network firewalls, LAN-to-LAN VPN gateways, and network authentication servers in a highly available distributed global network.
- Configure, support, and troubleshoot advanced firewall features, including high availability, OSPF routing, policy-based and route-based VPN, transparent firewalls, RADIUS and LDAP authentication, and IDS.
- Evaluate and pilot deployment of new security infrastructure products and features.
- Contribute as a network security SME to projects involving cross-functional technical teams, internal business and engineering customers, and external partners.
- Work closely with security operations, network, and GRC teams to assure seamless and reliable delivery of IT security.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation to resolve availability, technical, and security issues.
- Support security services under an ITIL service delivery model, developing and improving processes as needed.
- Create and maintain network and security documentation.
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years hands-on network and firewall experience in an enterprise environment
- Strong JUNOS and ScreenOS firewall experience
- Excellent understanding of common network and application protocols, such as TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, DNS, Windows networking, IPSec, and TLS/SSL
- Experience troubleshooting and reverse engineering complex heterogeneous network environments
- Demonstrated ability to implement large scale projects
- Desirable skills and experience include Juniper NSM, STRM/Q1 Radar, Cisco switches and routers, basic Linux system administration and scripting.
- CISSP desirable
