Job Description/Required Skills:
The Storage and Backup Engineer's primary responsibility is to ensure the availability and integrity of the client's data systems.
Working with the Networks & Systems team this individual will architect and coordinate the SAN, NAS and DAS storage systems to provide connectivity to centralized and remote systems. As the Backup engineer they will ensure critical data is backed up and replicated and available for recovery in normal and disaster recovery scenarios.
Expert enterprise experience with SAN/NAS and DAS systems including Compellent and NetApp.
Expert enterprise experience in designing and operating fiber channel and fiber channel over Ethernet storage networks.
Expert proven skills in operating and maintaining backup solutions for 100 TB+ data environment.
Expert knowledge of cloud storage solutions and optimizing cloud performance.
Troubleshoot complex problems on multiple systems.
Develop new systems in the face of interruptions.
Expert/Advanced Windows and UNIX/Linux administration skills.
Expert/Advanced virtualization systems experience/best practices for (VMWare and XenServer) in large scale deployments.
Track and communicate activities. Work with servers, equipment racks, and electrical systems. Must have experience with design and deployment of critical service infrastructure across multiple machine rooms.
Able to present their work to peers, management, and larger audience at conferences or events.
