Job Title: Java Developer
Location: Boston, MA
Duartion: 6+Months Contract

Job Description:
Design, develop and implement Java based DESE applications
Enhance existing application to add new functionality and to optimize them for performance
Provide day to day production systems support including trouble-shooting and fixing issues as they occur
Share knowledge and development techniques among the team
Document requirements for enhancement requests
Create and monitor development or implementation plan
Write technical specifications for all new development
Deploy code to production environment
Log bugs and communicate about application issues with other application developers
Maintain, modify and enhance existing multi-tiered and distributed systems
Prepare technical documentation on revised applications
Collaborate with other developers to ensure consistency with enterprise architecture and standards
Participate in discussions and decisions to shape future enterprise architecture
Perform other duties as required

Qualification:
10 to 12 years of experience writing J2EE web applications (Java/J2EE, Servlets, JSP)
Experience in spring MVC and Struts application framework
Experience in building Web Services
Experience with SQL programming, Oracle 10g, JDBC, SQL, PL/SQL
Front end development experience including DHTML, Rich Internet Applications, JavaScript
Experience designing and managing web applications, with solid understanding of object-oriented programming
Multi-tiered application design and development
Demonstrated analytical skills
Ability to analyze problems and recommend practical solutions to attain desired results
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Excellent customer service skills.
Demonstrated discipline, self-reliance, dependability, and good judgment.
Solid organizational and communications skills

Required Skills:
Experience with Microsoft Behaviors and/or Ajax concepts
Experience developing/deploying applications for Weblogic
Understanding of education data and/or terminology
Familiarity with Cognos BI tools, ReportNet and Cognos BI-8 suite.
