Role: AIX Admin

Daily reactive support for Unix systems. Perform triage, initial troubleshooting, and escalation.

•         Daily reactive support for Tivoli Storage Manager backup system

•         Develop and maintain procedures & policies around all aspects of server support & implementation, including evaluation of existing practices, documentation, and training

•         Perform Operating System installations

•         Assist vendors with implementation of new servers

•         Provide 2nd level support to application support teams managing server-based applications

•         Responsible for installation, configuration and updates of systems related software, firmware, operating systems patches and upgrades

•         Provide on-going assistance to other service providers with new implementations and support issues

•         Provide support for hospital initiatives & programs

 

Necessary Skills:

•         Expert knowledge of Unix systems administration

•         Expert knowledge of server concepts & architectures

•         Experience with AIX (MUST)

•         Experience with Tivoli Storage Manager (MUST)

•         Excellent verbal communication

•         Experience in the healthcare industry

•         Experience with IBM pSeries server hardware

•         Experience with VMware
