Job Description:

 

·         The primary goal of the Network Engineer is to ensure the smooth operation of the client's data networks in order to provide maximum performance and availability.

·         The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, installing, maintaining and supporting LAN, WAN and wireless infrastructures at all locations.

·         The Network Engineer provides high-level technical support for network systems, creates and maintains network documentation, maintains hardware and software standards, and works projects as needed in order to upgrade to new and/or improved communication equipment and procedures.

·         The Network Engineer must be well versed with the advanced engineering and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems.

·         This position requires excellent problem management and customer service

 

 

Requirements:

 

·         Primary responsibility to deploy and configure LAN, WAN, security, and wireless infrastructure

·         Act as an subject matter expert (SME) and also provide 3rd level support for LAN, WAN, security and wireless related incidents

·         Evaluate and test new technologies and offerings from various vendors and make recommendations

·         Develop or update network documentation and diagrams Required Skills

·         Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience with Cisco routers (ISR, ASR), switches (Catalyst, Nexus), firewalls (PIX, ASA)

·         Knowledge and hands-on experience with BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS, QoS, IPSec, GRE, Multicast - Hands-on experience with traffic monitoring and management tools for NBAR and NetFlow

·         Minimum of 5 years experience working in a large enterprise network in a design, engineering, or architecture role

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills & able to clearly articulate complex issues

·         Team player with proven track record of successful project delivery - Motivated self starter - Excellent attention to detail Desired Skills

·         Experience with Riverbed WAN acceleration - Experience with F5 load management - Experience with Checkpoint firewalls

·         Experience with Ciena DWDM equipment - Experience with HP TippingPoint IPS - Experience with Virtual Port-channel on Cisco Nexus

·         Experience with Cisco VBlock - Experience with SOX, PCI, and FDA compliance - Familiarity with ISO 20000 –

·         Familiarity with ITIL framework Certifications
