Sr. Java Developer

6 month contract with possible extension

·         Participate with business representatives/users and business analysts, release manager, and/or development manager in the requirements definition process.

·         Review and sign-off on completed requirements documents.

·         Translate business requirements into viable technical architectures, database schemas, and designs.

·         Implement the designs (design, code, test, deploy). Support the deployed applications through debugging, fixing, and maintenance releases.

·         Understand the current applications and technical architecture and provide technical and programming support to the developers.

·         Work with users, contractors, vendors and technical personnel to meet project milestones.

·         Stay abreast of new technology and methods to optimize development for the enterprise.  

·         Have a thorough understanding of software development lifecycle and the ability to implement software following the structured approach.

·         Excellent Communication Skills

·         Excellent Aptitude for learning

·         Very strong organizational, task management, and prioritization skills

·         Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills

·         Ability to work well with peers and all levels of management

·         Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced, dynamic and agile environment that supports web tier components of customer acquisition and servicing applications.

 

The position requires that the web developer be able to build dynamic, standards-based web content from electronic marketing material as well as maintain and support content in production environments.

 

-          Experience in using source code control

-          Web and application server knowledge

-          Knowledge of Struts, Stripes, Ajax, YUI

-          Extensive knowledge of JSP

-          Web standards development using XHTML, CSS, HTML 4/4.01 and HTML 5.0, DHTML and JavaScript

-          Familiarity with UNIX environments

-          Experience with IDEs – Netbeans a plus

Either –

4 year degree, BS Computer Science or Engineering plus minimum 3-4 years of related experience

Or –

Equivalent overall experience typically gained through 5+ years business programming experience
