Engagement Description: Client seeks to engage a consultant to help it formulate a SharePoint implementation strategy. In the first part of the engagement, the consultant will produce a plan for quickly and effectively taking advantage of the SharePoint services soon to be provided to state agencies by the state s Office of Enterprise Technology via Microsoft s Business Productivity Online Standard Suite.
Client expects its initial SharePoint implementation will focus principally on supporting collaboration among the members of teams charged with projects or charged with operations responsibilities. (SharePoint s support for records retention and workflow management functions are not a high priority)
The consultant s plan must:
-Propose policies, procedures, and standards necessary for ensuring the SharePoint implementation is orderly and sustainable Identify the human and other resources that will be required to support SharePoint implementation and operations
-Identify communication strategies for engaging potential users and managing their expectations
-Identify and schedule tasks necessary to develop initial SharePoint services and then transition support for SharePoint fr0m a development mode to an operations mode
-Later in the engagement, the consultant will advise Agency staff people as they carry out the initial tasks in the consultant s plan.
-The Agency intends to select a SharePoint STRATEGIST rather than a SharePoint implementer for this engagement.
