Location: St. Louis, MI
Duration: 6+ months
Title: IT Sr. Architect
o Define, document, implement, socialize, and support processes and standards for building and deploying enterprise Java applications.
o Review application designs and implementation plans for scalability, maintainability and capacity
o Define disaster recovery requirements and ensure applications' compliance
o Help evaluate prospective technologies and products and standardize use thereof
o Build and maintain conceptual and physical application/infrastructure diagrams
o Work with IT and Business management to evaluate new software development and migration projects and formulate strategies to achieve desired
Principle Duties:
o Assist with urgent production issues as required, facilitate root cause analysis, and remediate via refined processes, standards, documentation, and
o Lead and mentor other technologists in various efforts
o Bridge the gap between software development and system administration teams through facilitating communication and creating technical solutions
o Other duties and special assignments as required
Experience in several of the following areas:
o deploying, tuning, and maintaining Web Application Containers (Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, Websphere, Mule, etc)
o packaging and deploying applications at both the application level (Java packages such as JAR, WAR, EAR) and system level (RPM, DEB, etc).
o utilizing scripting languages to automate deployment and configuration tasks (PERL, Python, Shell Scripting, etc)
o managing and supporting message queuing solutions (Websphere MQ, etc)
o load balancing solutions (BigIP or others)
o using continuous integration solutions (Hudson) to perform automated builds and deployments
o Ability to maintain strategic alignment during project execution
o Strong knowledge of unix/linux command line
o Strong analytical/troubleshooting skills
o Strong verbal and written communication skills
College degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent work experience
