Position : Oracle Database Engineer
Location : Rockville, MD
Duration: 6 months
A Senior Oracle Database Engineer, who can translate requirements into database design, data models, implement high quality code in PL/SQL, SQL and shell scripts, and perform system and application tuning to handle large volume of data. Financial industry and batch data processing experiences are big plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Meet with business stakeholders and other technical team members to gather and analyze application requirements
Design database solutions to satisfy application (business and technical) requirements
Implement database solutions using available database development tools
Provide first level operational support for development and production database systems
Provide written status reports to management regarding project status, task, and issues/risks
Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
5 years working experience in Oracle, SQL Server, or other relational database
Good written and verbal communication skills
Good technical and problem solving skills; knowledge of Oracle database server, SQL, PL/SQL, XML, SQL Server, UNIX, shell scripting
