Mainframes tester - Wallingford, CT- Looking only for EAD/GC/CITIZEN
Rate: $35/hr
Participate on a mainframe team to perform Software Engineering and Quality Analyst duties (analysis, design, code, debug, test, maintain, etc) to develop assigned Batch/CICS applications to meet quarterly release goals. Experience in Cobol, JCL, TSO, VSAM, CICS, FileAid or equivalent tool, FTP, Unix, Word, and Excel required. Experience with Java and PC Platforms, performance testing using Tritune, Strobe or TMON, and ability to reformat data using Awk or REXX a plus. Using Agile development approaches actively participate in planning sessions to identify approach to release/sprint development, participate and/or lead design sessions to influence feature implementation based on customer needs and execution/completion of assigned tasks. Working with customers to resolve escalated customer software concerns. Other key roles will be the participation in projects to improve product development efficiencies and the implementation of technical design solutions for strategic projects
Must be comfortable in fast paced environment with challenging deadlines, and be able to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities. Good verbal and written communication skills are a must. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to take individual initiative and responsibility for assignments. Ability to meet timelines set in project plans and produce high quality product. Experience within Healthcare industry (grouping, editing and reimbursement) a plus.
