Position Level: Mid-Level                    

 

Position Title: Automated Tester

 

Location: Columbus, OH

 

Duration: 6 months contract

 

Interview type: Phone screen followed by face to face

 

Client is not able to sponsor, so EADs, Green Card Holders and U.S. Citizens only may apply.

 

Required Skills:

Minimum of five years experience in testing role.

Minimum of three years experience in the use of QC and QTP.

Minimum of three years experience in the creation of automated test scripts using QTP.

Minimum of five years of automated testing.

Testing experience should include experience with the following technologies

1. Internet
2. Intranet
3. Client-Server
4. Large database query applications

This experience must include:

1. Developing and executing test cases and test scripts, defined as:
1. Reviewing and analyzing requirements to identify inconsistencies, single points of failure, and other items of risk
2. Analyzing requirements and designs to help identify appropriate automation candidates
3. Analyzing requirements and designs to help identify test cases and scripts
4. Developing and documenting automated test scripts

1. Managing defects, including:
1. Attend periodic Defect Triage meetings
2. Entering and reporting defects discovered during QA activities or test execution
3. Assigning initial severity and priority to defects discovered
4. Retesting all assigned defects
5. Insuring all assigned defects are closed.

1. Status reporting, including:
1. Product quality
2. Percent complete
2. Familiar with multiple MS Operating Systems (Windows 2000, Windows XP and Vista). 
3. Familiar with multiple web browsers (versions should include current and two (2) versions prior to the current version), including IE, FireFox, and Safari.

Required Soft Skills:

Excellent written and communication skills

Proficient with MS Office tools

 

 

Nice-to-Have Skills:

Knowledge of SciFinder. 

Knowledge of patents and intellectual property information

Specific Application Experience:

     

Certification(s) Required:

Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or five years of professional work experience in the field may be considered in lieu of degree requirement. 

Description of Services:

Builds and maintains the automated test harness.  Integrates each application into the test harness.  Integrates new tools into the harness.  Extends the test harness to the individual application(s)/change(s) under test.
