Title: SQL Developer / Administrator

Job Details:

·         Excellent long-term contract opportunity with a stable, growing organization in Southern Wisconsin ( Rock County ) for MS SQL Server Developer / Admin ( DBA ).

·         The selected candidate will be responsible for developing applications and integrations using MS SQL Server, and for creating data warehouses using Microsoft Analysis Services ( SSAS ).

·         Secondary responsibilities include tuning SQL Server installations to ensure availability, reliability, scalability and performance.

·         Will contribute to all areas of DB development and will work closely with developers and analysts regarding the modeling, implementation and administration of DB servers.

·         In addition, will assist in making and implementing recommendations concerning DB related components of development efforts.

·         Possibility of contract to hire.

Required Skills:

·         5 years as a SQL Server DBA or equivalent.

·         Extensive experience with T-SQL, data architecture and database design.

·         Strong knowledge and experience with database performance and tuning.

·         Extensive experience with SSAS data modeling and building cubes.

·         Strong working knowledge of de-normalized data structures, ad hoc query and reporting.

·         Understanding of the concepts behind XML data exchange and service oriented architectures.

·         Strong attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

·         Highly motivated and extremely detailed-oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

·         Prior programming experience highly desired.

·         Experience with SQL Server installation and configuration ( 2005, 2008 and/or 2008 R2 ), as well as knowledge and experience with database backup and recovery is desired.

·         SQL Server Service Broker and Reporting Services experience; DTS and BCP data manipulation; and some experience with SQL Server cluster installation would be preferred.

·         Bachelor's degree, or two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
