Looking for SQL DBA, Seattle, WA(Locals prefered)



LOCATION: Redmond, WA
Contract : 12+ Months

Responsibilities
Description
- Develop sustainable refresh process that enables NQS to access Ad Center customer and editorial clone data within 2 to 24 hours as per directions from NQS developer Kevin Gates
- Assist in basic DB maintenance services for server SAMTSSQLTA01 such as updates and back up services
Expectations
- Manage daily editorial campaign and core clone process
- Meet server availability SLA of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm pacific time
- Provide daily status updates in SLA attainment
- Resolve any hardware issues

Data Management
· Data extractions, transformations, and loading (ETL)
· Setup Test, Dev, Staging and Production Environments
· Proactively predict data growth
Availability
· Setup High-Availability as part Disaster Recovery Strategy for the Databases.
Documentation
· Centralized storage of Data Element Dictionaries (DED) and Data Models
· Configuration changes
· Current configurations
· DBA activities
· Future plans
· Server activities
· Standards
o Server configurations

Maintenance
· Design database Backup and Restoration Strategy
· Alerts (e.g., job failures, capacity shortages, etc.)
· Backups (this is the single most important DBA task)
· Monitor those backups are being performed regularly.
· Clean up of out-of-date files and records
· Database integrity checks
· Index defragmentation
· Reviewing error logs
· Sizing files
· Trial recoveries of backups (the 2nd most important DBA task)
· Updating stats
· Apply Service Packs.
Performance
· Auditing
· Baselining
· Enhancing / Optimizing / Tuning (especially index tuning and custom statistics)
· Troubleshooting
· Monitoring and Performance Tuning; Physical Server Level, Database level
Planning
· Configuration changes
· Future workloads
· Future system resources
Reporting
· Informing management of system conditions and future needs
· Alerts and notification management
Security
· Auditing
· Configuring
· Documenting
· Create Users and assign permissions based on the level of database access the user would need.
Additional Skill Set (optional)
· T SQL Skills – Query Development (Store procedures; Building Complex scripts)
· SSIS Development – Building Integration Packages
· SSAS Development – Building Cubes; Data Marts
· SSRS Reports – Development (I can train the candidate in Power pivot and Power view)
· Enterprise Data warehouse experience.
