Position : SQL Server DBA
Location : Nashville,TN (Locals Only Face to Face Interview)
Duration : 6 month contract

Must Have:
Minimum 5 years experience as a SQL Server DBA with SQL Server Database (2000, 2005, 2008, 2008 R2) platforms
3 years̢۪ experience with SQL Server DBMS and DB monitoring and tuning
3+ years experience with server optimization and consolidation
3+ years experience with the Windows Server platform
Experience with Data warehouse and Business Intelligence architecture.
Experience with replicating software like Double Take etc.
Experience with clustering and mirroring
Flexible and resilient in an ever changing environment
Position requires some on-call, evening work when needed

Day to Day:
Ensure a stable, reliable, available and secure SQL Server database environment
Ensure effective clustering and mirroring
Analyze databases to recommend effective performance tuning strategies
Exceptional collaboration, listening, written and verbal communication skills
Commitment to collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
Liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams
Installs, configures, and provides ongoing administrative and technical support for database systems, including maintaining environment for program development, testing, user acceptance and production.
Monitor system performance and resource utilization of installed systems, and project impact of future system
Optimize system performance and perform degradation analysis
Performs complete database creation, installation, and customization from vendor supplied release distribution
Develops and documents operational procedures for supported systems, including development of dialogs and user interfaces appropriate to the end user of the systems developed
Develop n-tier architecture of SQL Server 2005/ 2008 / 2008 R2 databases.
Troubleshoots advanced problems with application software manipulation of the underlying databases
Conducts root cause defect analysis in vendor products
Develops, documents and tests disaster recovery plans and techniques for maintaining business continuity
Work closely with the Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence staff, DBAs, Business System Analysts and Project Managers and other IT staff as needed.
Provides on-call support for supported systems (if required)
