Job Description :
Client in San Jose, CA, with their search for a tools engineer to join their data center infrastructure team and assist in the creation of custom tools that will monitor internal systems and applications.
This candidate will be responsible for the creation, deployment and support of custom monitoring tools that monitor and report the health of the system infrastructure and applications. This candidate must have experience working in large scale, real-time web environments.
Job responsibilities
- Participation in the development and periodic upgrades to various enterprise tools.
- Ongoing corrective and preventative maintenance to improve tools reliability and availability.
- Translating customer requirements into technically standardized solutions.
- Analyze, troubleshoot and restore production issues in the tools environment.
- Perform on-call rotations.
- Should have the ability to diagnose and fix networking and storage issues within a production environment.
- Must have experience working with live, high availability websites
- The candidate must have solid knowledge of Tivoli system monitoring software solutions.
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux and at least 3 years of Perl development are a must.
- The candidate must have at least 5 years of C, C++, Java (Nice to have skills, but not mandatory).
