Title:                     Oracle Apps DBA (E-Business Application DBA)

Location:             North Wales, PA

Description

 

The Database Administrator III (DBA) is responsible for providing operating success and performance as well as provides technical expertise and support to the Oracle ERP infrastructure and non-Oracle Application databases. The DBA III will implement, manage and monitor databases and associated technologies to the sites, subsidiaries and corporate locations in North America. Provides input into the evaluation and recommendation of strategies, technologies and standards for all IS related infrastructures. Will support the production environment and participate in development of projects, along with providing after hours support as required. Participates in the design, build and deployment of application and database systems according to requirements.

 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 

1.       Provide technical support for the company’s production databases and associated technologies, including Oracle databases and Oracle Applications 11i.

 

2.       Perform database monitoring, maintenance, reorganizations, resource management, schema management and capacity planning and performance tuning for the company’s databases.

 

3.       Provides technical leadership and serves as a source of documentation and standards to help direct the activities of the assigned applications development and support group.

 

4.       Develops and maintains contacts with external software applications providers of present and future automated tools, products, and services to convey the company’s needs and to further the company’s   

  interests. Coordinates with other IT organizations (i.e. Operations, Delivery Management, Infrastructure) for software upgrades and installation of new products

5.       Interacts with all levels of users and management to ascertain business application development information needs and coordinates and communicates solutions.

6.       Manages personnel to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and laws; company policies and procedures and current good management information systems practices.

7.       Fulfills departmental requirements in terms of providing work coverage and administrative notification during periods of personnel illness, vacation, or education.

8.       Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed. Reviews and approves new drafts and changes to policies and procedures for functions reporting.

9.       Provides weekly reports on project status.

10.   Performs other assignments as requested or as business needs require.

 

Experience Required:

?         8 years of DBA experience

?         Oracle E-Business Suite 11i administration in multiple instance implementations

?         Oracle core DBA

?         Experience in Manufacturing and FDA

 

Experience Preferred:

?         (Validated) environments

?         Experience including Oracle 11g and E-Business R12

?         Experience performing EBS R12 upgrade

 

 

Specialized or Technical Knowledge Licenses, Certifications needed:

 

Technical skills:

?         Oracle 10g/11g database

?         Oracle Applications Release 11/12 (patching, cloning, upgrading) and associated technologies (Discoverer, Express, SQL), backup/recovery, disaster recovery using standby databases, performance tuning, job scheduling (UC4/Appworx), database design and implementations.

?         Server and Operating systems knowledge, (IBM-AIX) enterprise storage (EMC, NetApp)

?         Strong analytical and scripting skills and performance tuning.
