Title: Systems Engineer/Architect

Duration: 6+ months

Location: Woodbridge NJ

 

Job Description:

 

• Lead the definition, documentation, and implementation of company-wide Enterprise Architecture standards, policies, processes, and procedures. As it relates to ETL and MetaData Management
• Lead the administration of the Infosphere suite of tools specifically related to MetaData management, data discovery and mining.
• Support the development teams as well as the business through all phases of the project (Initiation, development support, and production troubleshooting)
• Work with vendors (specifically IBM) to raise problem tickets and partner with them through the resolution of every issue. Includes deploying Fix patches on all our Infosphere servers.
• Analyze the current IT portfolio to identify opportunities for improvements such as expanding capacity, reducing complexity, reducing time and cost, and increasing effectiveness.
• Develop conceptual and detailed architectural plans, and work with internal and external resources to drive the plans to completion.
• Evaluate and select technical solutions based on business requirements and standards.
• Research and present industry best practices to IT and business stakeholders at all levels.
• Analyze performance measurement feedback.

Skills and Experience
• Strong experience with IBM's InfoSphere suite specifically DataStage, Business Glossary, Metadata Workbench, FastTrack, Discovery and Information Analyzer. Experience with Version 8.0 or higher preferred
• Strong understanding of the xMeta repository and how it ties into all the Infosphere components.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Strong experience with technical team leadership required.
• Strong ability to drive decisions through consensus and to influence change required.
• Strong ability to design pragmatic solutions to complex business problems required.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle methodologies required.
• Solid experience troubleshooting complex tasks and processes required.
• Solid experience with change management processes required.
• Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
• Experience with Cognos a plus.
• Experience with GreenPlum is a plus
