SQL Developer

Location: Boston, MA

Duration: 6 Months Contract.

 

The Job Description is as follows:

SQL(L2)-

·        SQL Constructs Ability to understand and implement Data-Types, Basic SQLSELECT Statements, Restricting and Sorting Data, System Functions, Joins, Sub-Queries, Creating &  Managing DB Objects, Manipulating Data (DML), Constraints, Views SQL Query Tuning Basics:  Understanding of concepts like Tuning Methodology, SQL Statement Processing, SHOWPLAN, Introduction to the Optimizer, Indexes and Basic Access Methods, Gathering Statistics, Optimizer Hints, Monitoring queries, Optimizing queries.  Adv SQL:  COMPUTE Clause, Advanced INSERT, Transact-SQL conditions and expressions, dealing with collation sequences, Using scalar and aggregate functions, Multiple Table Queries  Tools Level 1 usage

 

Unix Application Programming(L3)-UNIX OS and commands

·        Unix filesystems advanced concepts of inodes, stickybit , concept of umask etc

·        Unix Process subsystem and signals, concept of orphan and zombie processes, concept of process state and process scheduling & priority, changing priorty, analysing /proc, top etc

·        Advanced I/Oredirection/filters ( use of wildcards, use of commands such as pipe, tee, cat,cut, sort, tail, grep, find etc )

·        Basics of sed/awk

·        Concept of make;writing make files Unix programming - file i/o, process environment/control andmemory management, basic concepts of signal handling, basic IPCs( Messagequeues, Pipes, FIFO and semaphores ),socket programming

 

Perl Programming(L4)-- Object-Oriented Programming in Perl - Perl and Unicode - Perl Object Environment - POE (Programming in an Event-Driven Environment) – Inline Extensions - Inter Process Communication (client, server, signals etc)

Unix Shell Scripting(L3)-[Maintenance of Shell scripts] – Maintenance and enhancements of shell scripts- Debugging and trouble shooting the shell scripts - Ability to develop scripts interfacing with databases - Ability to handle large scripts that in-turn use multiple executables and external scripts - Error logging [Debugging] –Enabling debugging - Syntax Checking Shell Tracing - Using echo -Using Standard Error -Options for Debugging - Script Tracing - Conditional Debugging
