Cognos Architect Senior in Jersey City, NJ
Candidate must have following
BS Degree
10+ Years of Total Experience
2+ Years as BI Architect Experience
Strong skills to Analyze, design, develop, and support initiatives to deliver Cognos 8 frameworks enabling end user reporting capabilities as well as advanced reporting development
Good understanding in Data Warehousing concepts, Data Analysis, Data Warehouse Architecture.
Must have experience in designing, working with and development of Star/Snowflake Schema Design, DataMarts and Dimensional Models
Skilled in performance tuning, analyzing query plans and tuning.
Provide technical support and trouble shooting for Cognos related issues
Ability to work with middleware administrators to resolve issues
Experience of working with business users to gather requirements and provide training
Experience with Oracle 11g
Understanding of the entire SDLC process and knowledge of industry standard best practices
Strong SQL skills
ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Must have experience as an architect designing Cognos 8.X solutions.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Solid oral and written communication skills.
Experience in Insurance domain.

Knowledge and experience in implementing user level and data level securities within Cognos Planning Contributor applications Routine maintainence of models and applications on COGNOS EP
Experience authoring Cognos Planning technical requirements and design documents for business applications
Working knowledge and experience in Windows 2003 server administration
Good understanding of various database platforms, including Oracle, and MS SQL Strong understanding of Cognos EP system architecture and technology infrastructure is a plus
Extensive experience with MS Excel, spreadsheet presentation, and financial modeling Excellent communications, presentation skills with ability to interact at all levels of the organization on a regular basis Takes direction well but must work independently, Team player, strong attention to detail, good interpersonal skills
