Job description
Serves as a liaison between the research/development scientist community and the IS organization in order to provide technical solutions to the supporting business organization. This position requires advanced knowledge and working experience in health care and/or pharmaceutics industry, proven records of leading changes and delivering software solutions by working in a highly regulated and service oriented environment.
Primarily responsible for administering and managing databases supporting custom and commercially developed applications. Design, implement and maintain complex database/system solutions.
The position requires advanced knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL
Key responsibilities:
• Participate in requirements gathering and application review sessions and perform solution design, coding and documentation with minimal supervision and support.
• Ensure development meets application requirements and is unit tested error-free.
• Create and review detailed technical designs and architecture documents.
• Provide timely response and resolution to Production issues, questions and defects.
• Responsible for the design, development, testing, and implementation of data transformation and information retrieval requirements that meet application and technical architecture objectives
• Additional responsibilities will include query performance tuning, data analysis and technical documentation.
• Following Amgen change management process, manage indentified issues/incidents from production system(s), perform root cause analysis and provide appropriate resolution.
• Responsible to analyze data and provide support to the business analyst for issue resolution
Basic Qualifications
• Master's degree & 6 years of directly related experience
OR
Bachelor's degree & 8 years of directly related experience
OR
Associate's degree & 10 years of directly related experience
Preferred Qualification
• Advanced experience of writing SQL queries and developing functions/packages with PL/SQL
• Knowledge of E2B standards is plus.
• Extensive experience with Oracle RDBMS
• Experience of working on major programs/projects that involved multiple stakeholders from inception to completion
• Knowledge of SDLC; desirable to have experience of working at regulated environment
• Strong analytical skills, good at system design and architect
• Knowledge of database and data warehouse modeling
• Familiar with change control process; experience of maintaining and supporting systems
• Experience of working in a highly regulated environment closely with quality and validation
• Desirable, but not required to have experience with Oracle Argus Suite.
• Good documentation and communication skills
• Must be capable of prioritizing tasks and multi-tasking in an environment that can require changing and varied demands from ad hoc reporting to management to engaging development staff at a technical level to resolve issues and meet release schedules.
• Demonstrate learning agility
• Should be self motivated and a quick learner
