Job Description:
Key role in the maintenance of all network related systems and services. Implementation, testing, problem determination and maintenance of network local and wide area networks. This is a technical position in a high-volume production environment in the day-to-day administration, management, maintenance, and accountability of LAN and WAN connectivity and will include hardware installation and maintenance. Other areas of responsibility include Remote Access VPN, Load balancers, DNS and DHCP.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Installation and implementation of routers, switches, and load balancers.
- Implement and manage Wide area networks, VPN networks and Local area networks
- Troubleshoots hardware, software and routing on Cisco routers and switches
- Troubleshoots TCP/IP connectivity issues in the LAN and WAN
- Configures and troubleshoots F5 load balancers
- Configures and troubleshoots remote access routers and concentrators
- Fulfills on-call duties and responds to calls from the office within 15 minutes.
- Attends project meetings and follows up till completion
- Keeps documentation current and up-to-date with necessary diagrams and event logs
- Contributes ideas to improve technology, communications and processes.
- Exercises self-initiative to recognize and act upon departmental needs.
- After business hours maintenance and "on call" rotation is mandatory.
Position Requirements:
- Excellent TCP/IP troubleshooting skills required (Cisco Routers and Switches)
- Extensive knowledge of packet capture and analysis using various tools (e.g., Sniffer)
- Expert level knowledge and experience with enterprise WAN and LAN maintenance
- Must be very knowledgeable in IP protocols and data security control measures
- Knowledge of all Routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, etc.
- Significant experience with network management tools (e.g., NetView, Cisco Works)
- Experience with trouble ticketing systems (e.g., Remedy)
- Experience with SSL VPN appliance technology (e.g., Sonicwall)
- Experience working with telecomm providers and contractors (AT&T, Verizon, etc.)
- Experience with load balancers and web cache products. (F5 family of load balancers)
- Experience with Wireless networks (Cisco)
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as KSH or AWK
- Experience with Channel Extenders and High bandwidth Carrier termination devices (e.g., AKARA)
Education and/or Experience
- Minimum 6-8 years of network engineering experience required
- Must have experience troubleshooting complex networks including VPN's and use reasoning to produce effective solutions
- Industry level certification to the level of a CCNP or equivalent experience
- College degree desired
Communication Skills:
- Good oral and written communication skills. Must be able to participate in meetings that may involve customers, clients or other business partners.
Leadership Skills:
- Must be highly organized and have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be able to train other members as needed.
- Must be able to prioritize duties and demonstrate time management skills.
